After Compline, the final prayer of the day which takes place around 8pm, Father Abbot extends his blessing to the monks as they leave the church. Each brother now returns to his cell where he will spend the night. Each cell is a small room, simply furnished with a bed, a desk and a washbasin.
For the monks the day will start again before the first glimpse of daylight. They will return to the church at 4am to pray Vigils.
